Originally built in 1713 as part of the French-Canadian trading post system, the grounds were restored in the 1960s (largely through archaeologically-informed reconstruction) as a tourist attraction. The fort and grounds now operate as part of "Colonial Michilimackinac State Park" in Mackinaw City, a major component of the Mackinac State Historic Parks.

The majestic Mackinac Bridge connects Michigan's Upper and Lower peninsulas by spanning the 5 mile Straits of Mackinac where Lake Michigan meets Lake Huron, making it the 3rd longest (but arguably the most beautiful) suspension bridge in the world.

Enjoy this vintage style travel print of historic Fort Michilimackinac, with views of Michigan's beloved "Mighty Mac" and the Straits of Mackinac in the background.

Illustration and design by Brian Walline.
