The artwork features the Beaver Island Harbor Light, also known as the Whiskey point Light or the St. James Harbor Light, which was originally constructed in 1856 using Milwaukee's famouse Cream City Brick. "Whiskey Point" was originally the site of a 1838 fur trading post specializing in — you guessed it — whiskey! This artwork also features the former US Coast Guard station & boathouse, which is now the Central Michigan University Biological Station.
